La Rochelle, France
Les Francofolies de La Rochelle is France's premier celebration of French-language music, founded in 1985 in the picturesque Atlantic port city of La Rochelle. Held annually in July across indoor and outdoor venues, the five-day festival champions Francophone artists of every genre — chanson, pop, hip-hop, electro — and has helped launch some of the biggest names in French music.
A short dispatch each week. New festivals, lineup drops, and stories worth reading.
