Ruisrock is the second-oldest rock festival in Europe, held annually on the island of Ruissalo near Turku, Finland. Founded in 1970 — just one year after Woodstock — Ruisrock has been a cornerstone of Nordic music culture for over 50 years. The festival takes place in a beautiful natural setting of oak groves and beaches on the island, drawing around 35,000 attendees over three days each July. Ruisrock balances Finnish and international acts across rock, pop, electronic, and hip-hop. Past performers include Iggy Pop, The Cure, Gorillaz, and Florence + The Machine.
