Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT) is the world's largest gothic music and culture festival, held annually in Leipzig, Germany over Whitsun weekend. Since 1992 it has grown from a small gathering into a massive event drawing over 20,000 attendees from around the world. WGT spans over 100 venues across Leipzig — churches, theaters, clubs, parks, and industrial spaces — creating an extraordinary city-wide celebration of dark culture. The music covers gothic rock, darkwave, EBM, industrial, neofolk, medieval, and beyond. WGT is as much about the spectacle of its attendees — elaborate costumes and striking aesthetics — as the music itself. The Victorian Picnic in Clara Zetkin Park is one of its most iconic traditions.
